Lesson 5 The Opportunity of Self-Care
Many health issues can often be resolved with informed self-care, including for mental/emotional issues. The over-riding task is to get in-touch with and be honest with ourselves. By doing this we can take back the power to do whatever we can to restore wellbeing.
For example, we may be suffering due to a personal or work relationship, from watching hours of the news, from lacking exercise, or from eating too much, etc. We might have a seriously challenging person in our life, live or work in a toxic environment, or realize we have neglected important personal issues. Any/all of these can trigger a downward spiral of thoughts and emotions.
Whenever this is the case, but we pretend not to notice, mood problems can set in. A mood disorder can further lead to physical symptoms such as headaches, digestive problems and other types of chronic pain when we continue to ignore the consequences of our denial.

The sooner we are willing to acknowledge any toxic stressors in our lives, the greater our options and ease of resolution.
